Snapdragon

Snapdragons prefer full sun to partial shade. They bloom best with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Plant snapdragons in well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. They do not like to sit in waterlogged soil.

Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water at the base of the plants to avoid wetting the foliage, which can lead to fungal diseases. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Snapdragons are cool-season flowers that thrive in cooler temperatures. They can tolerate light frosts, making them excellent for early spring and fall. In hot climates, they may stop blooming in the peak of summer heat but can revive and bloom again in cooler fall weather.

Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer at the time of planting. You can also use a liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season to support continuous blooming.

Pinch back young snapdragon plants when they are about 6 inches tall to encourage bushier growth and more flowers.

To prevent fungal diseases, ensure good air circulation around the plants and avoid overhead watering.
